The Gallery at Rancho Ellenita

REGARDING INDIANS ARTS & CRAFTS

To advertise arts and crafts as "Indian made," the stringent Federal Indian Arts and Crafts Act of 1990, requires the artisans to have specific permits and I.D.'s; it is very difficult for some Native Americans artisans to register. Additionally, on older pieces the creators may well have passed away before there was a need to register.

However, we do endeavor to advise you what tribe, if applicable, we believe the creator of arts & crafts may have belonged to. Our reputation is very important to us and we will not knowingly list a tribe unless we believe the creator was affiliated with that tribe.
