REGARDING INDIANS ARTS & CRAFTS
To advertise arts and crafts as "Indian made," the stringent Federal Indian Arts and Crafts Act of 1990, requires the artisans to have specific permits and I.D.'s; it is very difficult for some Native Americans artisans to register. Additionally, on older pieces the creators may well have passed away before there was a need to register.
However, we do endeavor to advise you what tribe, if applicable, we believe the creator of arts & crafts may have belonged to. Our reputation is very important to us and we will not knowingly list a tribe unless we believe the creator was affiliated with that tribe.
In the absence of a specific certification to the contrary, we do not warrant or represent that any particular item which is sold or offered for sale by The Gallery at Rancho Ellenita is an authentic Indian art or craft as defined by the laws of the United States, or the laws of any other jurisdiction.
We support the goals of the Indian Arts & Crafts Board to prevent fraudulent advertisement.
